Observation, Then Implementation
The Permaculture philosophy is based on observing what has worked well in nature for centuries. By paying attention to the natural ebb and flow of ecology, society may create a system that works with these factors instead of against them. Functional ecosystems might be cultivated through the use of all of the layers that make up a productive natural environment, from a canopy of trees to the insects that live beneath the top layer of soil.
Permaculture is a design concept that places an emphasis on making full use of every aspect of an environment. Every inch of land and space should be used if possible. This creates a more resilient and sustainable environment, and the positive impact that this design system may have on the ecosystem at large could be significant.
